#6: CHINA: Donghu Middle School\nSMS 8th grade students spoke Mandarin during a videoconference with pen-pals from Donghu Middle School in Pinghu, Zhejian, China. They shared music, skits, projects, and asked questions about favorite foods, sports, and music. The students had exchanged artwork and letters earlier in the year. Both sides were excited to meet their new friends and to practice communicating in an authentic exchange.\nNOTE: Time - students arrived early in the morning; test call first\n

Eighth grade math students participated in a videoconference using Skype with math professor, Dr. Diana Thomas of Montclair State University.\n\nDr. Thomas spoke about why we study math, conjectures and proofs. #15: “For filmmaker Rob Stewart, exploring sharks began as an underwater adventure. What it turned into was a beautiful and dangerous life journey into the balance of life on earth.\n\nDriven by passion fed from a lifelong fascination with sharks, Stewart debunks historical stereotypes and media depictions of sharks as bloodthirsty, man-eating monsters and reveals the reality of sharks as pillars in the evolution of the seas.” http://www.sharkwater.com/synopsis.htm\n\nTyler Cave, teacher  at Ardtrea Cumberland Beach School in Ontario organized this phenomenal event with ten schools participating. Students were riveted while Rob answered questions about the destruction of sharks and the impact on wildlife and the future of human life. Due to some technical difficulties, we adopted plan B, which worked beautifully: Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting.\n
#19: Note:\nProjector cable (VGA) is attached to white Apple adaptor. PC’s attach directly to VGA cable\nCamera Cable also called ‘firewire’\n
