Upgrade chart from Windows7 versions
The Windows 8.1 release date is October 17 - it will be available to existing
Windows 8 users for free on Windows Update.
Some of the expected features to include:
boot-to-desktop feature, better file zipping, upgraded apps, more
preferences for customisation, more functionality to the start screen and
search facilities and much more.

Once installed, launch the program
and verify 'Skip Start Screen' is
ticked. You can also disable the
corners and sides of the screen so
when you go to the corners and
sides the menus wont automatically
show up just by ticking boxes.
