The GenePak is then attached.
Several connections are made, and the
diesel engine is ready to run on 100%
waste oil.
Your engine will start on the diesel in your reserve tank, then
switch to used oil once the engine is at operating temperature.
Used oil can be delivered to your location by one of the many oil
collection companies for approximately 1/10 the cost of diesel fuel.

Geneco filters employ recently-developed
technology to remove ultra-fine particles
without clogging. Until recently, this would
have been impossible. This feature sets us
apart and makes the GenePak possible.
Particles above 3 microns are filtered out of
the used oil (many types of used oils, such
as hydraulic oil, will work in the GenePak).
The filter renders a product more pure than
diesel fuel, which translates directly into
lower emissions and longer life of your
engines components.

The oil is pumped into the collection reservoir
which analyzes the condition of the
filters, and determines if filters are beginning
to clog.
Genuine Geneco fuel filters are rated for a minimum three months at
normal usage of the application. Filters are configured in pairs. The
number of pairs required varies with the flow. See our flow tables to
determine your filter configuration.

Next, the fuel is heated using a highperformance fuel heater.
Used oil has a higher viscosity
(thickness) than diesel. Raising the
temperature of the filtered oil is
necessary to achieve the correct
viscosity and ensure proper ignition in
the combustion chamber.
It is a common practice to heat diesel
fuel in cold weather applications and
when running vegetable oil.

A quick look at the spec sheet for the QSB7 and we can see that
if we generate an average of 75% prime power (114kW) for a
duration of 10 hours per day for 30 days, we would expect to
burn 2,400 gallons of diesel fuel. (10 x 30 x 8.0)

In this example, you generated energy for 75 homes for one month and
burned 2400 gallons of diesel which cost about $ 3.36 per gallon.
Your total diesel fuel bill was: $ 8,071
With the GenePak installed on your diesel equipment, youd pay about
$800 (assumes used oil at $0.33 per gallon)
Savings: $7,271
In this example, one month of power savings was more than the cost of
your GenePak and you still have two months before a filter change!
