What the experts say?
Jad Mouawad Journalist C New York Times As oil prices rise, new extraction technologies become viable, thus expanding the total recoverable oil reserves .
Leonardo Maugeri Senior Vice President of Eni S.p.A The geological structure of the earth has not been explored thoroughly enough to conclude that the declining trend in discoveries.
- Abdullah Jum'ah CEO of Saudi Aramco I believe that in-place conventional and non-conventional liquid resources may ultimately total between 13 trillion and 16 trillion barrels and that only a small fraction (1.1 trillion) has been extracted to date.

Is this the peak oil era?

Editor's Notes

  1. Good morning ladies and gentlemen, respectful referees, audience, participants. before I start , I would like to thank his highness Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoom for gathering us in such great event and all the organizers and associates. Let me introduce you ourselves, we are students from collage of engineering, University of bahrain, im Yonis, and my colleges are : Mohammed, Muaz and Salman.
  2. Our topic this morning will be about this question: Is this the peak oil era?
  3. The story of the earth, the planet we all live on. Actually humans dominated earth for millions years and..
  4. Started to search for life supporters to survive and recourses for energy, like food, and water.
  5. They dig the deserts looking for these resources, And suddenly ..
  6. They found what he wasnt expecting
  7. , a huge amount of energy
  8. And a black gold was discovered
  9. new revolution is began
  10. And This new energy brought new technologies
  11. technologies which converted deserts
  12. Into cities
  13. It changes the face of earth
  14. It has penetrated the sky
  15. And reaches what beyond the sky
  16. 1- Easy to extract, and transport. 2- Easy to use. 3- 1 Gallon = 36.000 K.cal 4- Convertible to varies chemicals products.
  17. Pics
  18. Oil is non-renewable resource, it takes hundreds of millions of years to form.
  19. And we have extracted and burned what is take all these years to form in just about 100 years!
  20. Do we have to panic? For the mean time we dont have to panic, because even if the earth contains only a finite quantity of accessible oil, and there doesnt seem to be any indication of a significant decline in oil demand in the near future. However, we cannot simply suddenly run out of oil.
  21. But, there are theories try to predict different scenarios.
  22. This is an oil well which has just been drilled for the first time in this region. A wonderful bursting black fountain, caused by the extreme pressure underground.
  23. After a while this pressure will decrease, and will need to use technology to suck more of the black gold
  24. Again. Technology is our friend
  25. Impacts predicted to happen after the peak.
  26. solutions Renewable Energy .. Living Greenly. To Set rules and regulations to optimize consumption .
  27. We dont know when the oil peak will happened.
