solar system

heavenly bodies

Solar System
The Sun, the eight planets and their satellites
(moons), and other heavenly bodies like comets and
asteroids form the solar system.
sura Al Hajj, verse 65:
(God) holds back the sky from falling on the earth unless by His leave
Who keeps the heavenly bodies suspended in the Universe?
WHAT ARE PLANETS?
Planets are the heavenly bodies that
move in orbits around the Sun.
They do not give out heat and light on
their own.
They appear bright due to the sunlight
that falls on their surface.
There are total eight planets that revolve
around the Sun.
For a long time, Pluto was considered to be the 9th and tiniest
planet in our solar system. However, after scientists made some
new discoveries, they decided it really wasn't a planet after all.
Pluto is a dwarf planet.
Satellites are the strong heavenly bodies
that revolve around a planet.
Moon is the natural satellite of the Earth.
It has no light of its own. It shines
because it reflects the light of the sun.
WHAT ARE
SATELLITES?
Moon ???????
-sura Anbya , verse 33:
"(God is) the One Who created the
night, the day, the sun and the moon.
Each one is travelling in an orbit with its
own motion.¡°
-sura Al Furqan, verse 61:
"Blessed is the One Who placed the
constellations in heaven and placed
therein a lamp and a moon giving light."
Purpose of Sun and Moon
It is He who made the sun a shining light
and the moon a derived light and
determined for it phases - that you may
know the number of years and account [of
time]. Allah has not created this except in
truth. He details the signs for a people who
know.

the Sun and the only object
in the Solar system known to
harbor life. It is called blue
planet as most of the surface
is covered with water.
Mars (Mangal)
Mars is the fourth planet
from the Sun. It is called
as Red planet because
the surface has red soil
and rocks, atmosphere
mainly contains carbon
dioxide.
Jupiter (Bhrihaspati)
Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun
and the largest in the Solar System. It
is a giant planet.
Saturn (Shani)
Saturn is the sixth planet from
the Sun and the second-largest
in the Solar System, after
Jupiter.
It called gaseous planet because
it is made up of gases.
Saturn ¨C planet of rings
It is called planet of rings , the rings are
made up of rock particles and ice.
Uranus (Arun)
