The GeoCoffee project ran from January 2010 to December 2012 with the goals of implementing coffee sampling networks and isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) techniques to verify coffee authenticity. The project aimed to exchange knowledge and provide training among participating groups from Portugal, Austria, Italy, the US, and Brazil. A key outcome was developing the first coffee isotope landscape database of the isotopic and elemental composition of green coffee beans.
