The North American Peace Run began its 29th year in New York City on a cool April morning. Runners set off from New York carrying a torch to inspire peace within themselves and in the world. Over the next few months, the runners will cover over 12,000 miles across the U.S. and Canada before returning to New York in August. The ceremony included speeches, music, and a practice of the Peace Run song before the runners departed across the Verrazano Narrows bridge to begin their journey.
