Thor Powers IYA Energy System is the IYA ver cal wind turbine, the Grismir速
PMAC alternator, and associated electrical equipment, designed to be used alone or in
a hybrid arrangement with hydro, solar, carbon, thermal generators to provide energy
independence for home, commercial, farm or ranch proper es. The IYA system can
be either grid connected, form part of a micro-grid, or stand alone. Together with the
Grismir速 power device, the system provides tailored power for our customers.

2. Electricals
The IYA power system has been designed for maximum flexibility within an
electrical energy system. We use an MPPT charger which allows the IYA pow-
er system to operate on its own, or combined with a solar, hydro or carbon sys-
tem, then fed into batteries, a mains distribution network, or a mini-grid.
The photo on the right shows the four key components required for a core solo
wind system using battery storage. They are: 1. an inverter; 2. an MPPT wind &
solar hybrid charger; 3. A diode bridge to change VAC to VDC; 4. 12/24 volt
deep-cycle batteries (6x12 volt deep-cycle batteries can provide 5kW of power).
Mechanicals
IYA can be sited almost anywhere anywhere there is
wind! On ridges, roofs, on the ground, up on communi-
cation towers as a cantilever, on top of trees, far away!
Because of this flexibility, please retain a structural engi-
neer to analysis your turbine site in the face of your ex-
pected wind. No two sites are the same, even if they are
side by side.
However, the IYA turbine comes pre-assembled and
pre-tested from the factory. So, simply lift it out of its
shipping cradle with the built-in lifting eye, connect 4
bolts, and 3 wires and youre making power!
