Crystal is a compiled language that aims to provide Ruby-like developer productivity with C-like performance. It combines the readability and interactive development of Ruby with the performance and safety of C/C++. Crystal has seen tremendous growth over the past 6 years, with over 250 contributors, 10,000 stars on GitHub, and 2,500 packages. The biggest Crystal release to date, version 0.25.0, is coming next week.
