Undergraduate Researcher, SPIDUR Program, Charlotte, NC. (May-July 2015)
 Collaborated with a team of two engineers to test the engineering properties of
Belews Creek slurried fly ash.
 Developed laboratory procedures to mimic the field conditions of slurried fly ash,
as well as tested for the stiffness and strength through consolidation tests and
Consolidated Undrained Triaxial tests.
 Received mentoring from assistant professors to discuss the current challenges
and possible solutions of the project.
 Received professional training from program staff on a weekly basis to enhance
research skills and industry knowledge, as well as networked amongst fellow
student researchers.

Undergraduate Researcher, SMART Program, Boulder, CO. (June-August 2014)
 Collaborated with a team of three engineers to design and fabricate a beam
column connection in order to test how seismic accelerations on liquefiable soil
affect the damage potential of buildings.
 Developed a model of a beam-column connection on SAP2000 and AutoCAD to
analyze possible failure criteria of the system, as well as provide detailed
drawings of the engineering design.
 Engaged in weekly meetings with mentors to discuss engineering calculations,
and provided weekly updates highlighting the problems and solutions of the
project.
