This document describes 5 design concepts for a building project that draw inspiration from Islamic symbols and patterns. Concept 1 creates a pattern of alternating residential units and sky gardens. Concept 2 contrasts stacked units with a sweeping facade that creates a signature profile. Concept 3 abstracts the visual characteristics of traditional dhow boats into triangulated facades. Concept 4 carves two facades from towers to capture the forces of colliding waves. Concept 5 uses interlocking channels to build a cohesive whole, with garden floors at joints to create shared communal spaces.
