1. Jennifer Carmack: Special Guest Host for Conference Banquet and Awards Ceremony
Jennifer Carmack joined WTHR in July of 2011 after
spending eight years as a reporter at WRTV. Before
returning to Indiana, the Indianapolis native worked as an
anchor reporter at WATE in Knoxville Tennessee. Prior to
her time in Knoxville, Jennifer worked as an assignment
editor and reporter for WCPO in Cincinnati Ohio. Before
that she was an anchor reporter for WLW radio where she
earned an Edward R. Murrow award for her work.
Jennifer began her broadcasting career as an intern
for WISH-TV before accepting her first job anchoring and
reporting for a cable news station in Columbus, Indiana. She
was born and raised in Indianapolis where she graduated
from Franklin Central High School, and she studied Communications and Radio-TV-
Film at Indiana State University.
Jennifer is a burn survivor and has worked with children dealing with burn
injuries as a volunteer camp counselor. She is passionate about fire prevention and
routinely practices EDITH drills with her own family. In her free time Jennifer enjoys
running, baking and spending time with her husband and son Jacob.
