Jujitsu is a martial art that originated in China and Japan and focuses on grappling and throwing techniques without weapons. It later spread to Japan where the Gracie family helped popularize it through challenge matches against larger opponents from 1940-2004. The martial art is now governed by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and has over 1,300 female students participating in their school program across various regions in Abu Dhabi.
