JOE BECKETT
Lean Specialist
e-Zsigma Canada Inc.

Joe Beckett is a Lean Sensei , and Senior Practitioner (Trainer and Consultant) for e-Zsigma Canada Inc.

Joe began his Lean journey in 1999 while serving as Production Manager for a provider of wireless
telecommunications infrastructure. Since that time he has taught and implemented Lean in various manufacturing
and administrative settings throughout North America and has taught Lean Principles at the New Brunswick
Community College, UNB College of Extended Learning and Schulich Executive Education Centre. His efforts in
coaching, mentoring and leading projects and teams have resulted in significant reductions in Lean metrics (lead
times, cycle times, inventories, etc.) of up to 80%.

Prior to joining e-Zsigma, Joe had worked in many industries including hi-tech, shipbuilding, composite
manufacturing, power generation, oil and gas production and metals fabrication. He has held positions as
Production Manager, Configuration Manager, Program Manager, Manager of Engineering Support and Director of
Client Development.

Joe was integral to the design, development and implementation of the Lean energy and pollutant reduction
process. He fully understands the financial impact of going green on the organization. As Joe says It makes
sense for a company to go Green only if there is a positive effect on the bottom line. Lean is the tool that will
systematically expose and eliminate much of the wasted energy and associated toxins within a process. In simple
terms, Lean will reduce the amount money going up the stack due to inefficient processes.

Joe is a founding and active member of the New Brunswick Community for Continuous Improvement whose
mission is to Learn, Share and Leverage Lean across the public and private sectors.

His technical training in Mechanical and Process Design was achieved at the Southern Alberta Institute of
Technology.
