Hiroshi Sugimoto had a vision of photographing an entire movie in a single frame. To realize this vision, he secretly brought a large-format camera into a cheap cinema and left the shutter open for the entire two hour movie. After developing the film, his vision "exploded behind his eyes" as he had captured the entire movie in a single frame with intermittent flashes of light and darkness.
