OBJECTIVE
To obtain an entry-level engineering position pertaining to power generation or transmission and distribution,
where I can continue to develop and refine my technical skills in a challenging environment. My internship experience
with Sheridan Electric has provided me with an excellent background of substations, as well as medium to high voltage
electrical equipment. The internship also allowed me to travel to various substations throughout New Jersey and speak
with Engineers from PSE&G, in order to improve the designs of future transformers.
EDUCATION
Rutgers University, School of Engineering, Piscataway, NJ
B.S., Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering- Energy Concentration, Graduated May 2015, GPA: 3.10
Raritan Valley Community College, Branchburg, NJ
Engineering Sciences, January 2010 – December 2011, GPA: 3.90
WORK EXPERIENCE
Sheridan Electric, Englewood Cliffs, NJ
Transmission and Distribution Engineering Intern, May 2013 to December 2015
ï‚· Completed a training program with this agency which provides transmission and distribution power transformers
and switchgear from SMIT Transformers, MP Husky, Howard Industries, AZZ and more to PSE&G & PPL.
ï‚· Traveled to substations to speak with PSE&G Engineers to improve designs of future transformers based on
preferences.
ï‚· Communicated and collaborated with both customers and manufacturers on several projects simultaneously to
resolve any issues, ensure customer satisfaction and complete projects on time.
RESEARCH & PROJECTS
Rutgers University, Institute for Advanced Materials, Devices and Nanotechnology, New Brunswick NJ
Energy Science and Nanotechnology Lab, August 2014 –April 2015
ï‚· Construction of lab equipment to accurately characterize & measure the Seebeck coefficient, thermal & electrical
conductivity of newly designed thermoelectric materials in the temperature range of 30K to 800K.
ï‚· Helped develop an automated measurement system that reduced the time to characterize new materials by 40%.
Senior Design Project – Rate of Condensation Measuring Device, September 2014 – May 2015
ï‚· Created a device which measures the rate of condensation for various test samples to aid in the research of
functionalizing surfaces to increase the mass flow rate of condensation, in order to reduce the energy
consumption of dehumidification systems.
ï‚· The device allows the user to look at orientation, striations and holes, coatings and other surface characteristics
and help determine how they affect the formation of condensation.
Rutgers University, Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering, New Brunswick NJ
Filter Design Project, July 2012
ï‚· Designed a Second Order Butterworth Low Pass Filter to achieve a pass band gain of 20 dB with a cut
off frequency of 800 Hz.
ï‚· Explored various filter configurations to achieve desired results.
SKILLS
ï‚· Proficient knowledge of Electrical Engineering, SolidWorks, MATLAB, Multisim, PSpice and Microsoft Office
ï‚· Fast learner with strong leadership and critical thinking skills as well as mechanically inclined
