This document outlines preparatory activities for participants in the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Leadership Journey youth program. It instructs participants to complete a personal SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis as the first step. Doing a SWOT will help participants understand themselves - their gifts, weaknesses, desires, fears, and life patterns. Self-knowledge is important for growth during the leadership journey program and in life. Participants are asked to email their completed SWOT analysis to the program coordinators.

WELCOME! We have prepared several activities to prepare you for the program. We don’t want you to feel uncomfortable when we do the Leadership Journey.
―TUNING IN‖ Imagine a guitar.
―TUNING IN‖ For it to make beautiful music, its strings have to be ‘in tune’.
―TUNING IN‖ If one of the strings is out of tune, it wouldn’t sound nice, would it?
―TUNING IN‖ Thus, musicians carefully listen to each string, putting each in its place to make beautiful melody and harmony.
YOU AND THE PROGRAM Treat the program as your dance partner.
YOU AND THE PROGRAM In order for you to take all the experience in, you have to be in tune with it.
YOU AND THE PROGRAM For you to be able to embrace the messages, you have to practice with it a couple of times before you ‘dance’ with it.

THE FIRST STEP IN THIS PROGRAM IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN IDEA OF YOURSELF – WHO YOU ARE WHAT YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU CANNOT DO YOUR POTENTIAL AND LIMITATIONS
IN LIFE’S JOURNEY, EVERY EXPERIENCE WILL EITHER MAKE OR BREAK YOU. NOT KNOWING YOURSELF FULLY WILL HINDER YOU IN GROWING.
THE CHALLENGE FOR US IS TO CONSTANTLY TRY TO GRAPPLE WITH OURSELVES—TO KNOW WHO WE ARE AS WE EXPERIENCE TRIUMPHS AND FAILURES, SUCCESS AND HEARTACHES.
