Anselm prays to God to help him know and love God fully so that he may find true joy. He asks to gradually gain more knowledge and love of God in this life and for it to be made complete in the next life. Anselm wants his hope in God to bring him great joy now and for his joy to be made fully real in heaven. He prays that God will help him receive what was promised so that his joy may be complete, as Jesus counseled, and for his whole being to desire God until entering fully into the joy of the Lord.
Anselm prays to God to help him know and love God fully so that he may rejoice in God. He asks that his knowledge and love of God may grow over time, either in this life or the next, until it is complete. Anselm references Jesus' command to ask God for things and God's promise to give what is asked so that one's joy may be complete. Anselm asks God to fulfill this promise so that his joy may be made complete.
The document provides biblical passages about finding contentment and joy through faith in God. It encourages the reader to renew their faith and trust in God, who will give them strength and peace even in difficult circumstances. Having faith in God, though unseen, fills believers with joy as they await the salvation of their souls.
THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPS US TO KEEP OUR HEARTStanley Tan
油
The Holy Spirit helps believers maintain four types of hearts: 1) A prideless heart by giving humility. 2) A pure heart by enabling one to put sinful desires to death. 3) A passionate heart for God through speaking to each other with spiritual songs and always giving thanks. 4) A prayerful heart by interceding for believers and helping them pray according to God's will. Staying filled with the Spirit ensures one remains blessed and used by God.
This document discusses the importance of confessing sins and having a repentant heart. It notes that confession means agreeing with God about your sin, while the unrepentant hide their sins from others and themselves. The document encourages confessing sins to experience freedom, joy, and restoration from God, as God desires honesty and a broken, repentant spirit over sacrifice. It emphasizes that hiding sin never works and your life is better when you confess.
This document provides guidance for conducting a daily spiritual reflection called an "examen". It involves reflecting on the experiences of the day to see God's presence and action. This enables gaining wisdom for the future. It recommends opening your eyes and asking God for clarity, practicing gratitude in both joyful and disappointing moments, and reviewing the past year to identify a season of joy and disappointment. Tiles can represent these to express gratitude and ask for help. Finally, it quotes Psalm 77 about remembering God's deeds and miracles, and meditating on his mighty works.
This document discusses the need for spiritual renewal and revival. It notes that without being replenished by spiritual resources beyond oneself, one can feel drained and isolated, setting oneself up for collapse. However, through turning to God and restructuring one's thinking according to biblical truth, one can heal psychologically. Prophecy shows that God will bring victory over sin and empower one to overcome past pains and present obstacles through praise and trusting in God's providence.
1) The document discusses finding health, happiness and healing through prayer, praise, and fellowship. It references Psalm 30 and James 5:13-16.
2) Both passages encourage praying for healing in times of sickness and praising God in times of health. James instructs believers to call the elders to pray and anoint the sick with oil.
3) Psalm 30 recounts God lifting the psalmist out of distress and turning mourning to dancing. It teaches that God's favor lasts forever, even when his anger is temporary.
The document discusses the concept of shalom in the Bible. It begins by defining shalom as implying a state of harmony, satisfaction, and right relationships. It then discusses how the Bible's story starts in Genesis 1 with the creation of the world and ends in Revelation with a new heaven and new earth, coming full circle. The disruption of shalom, or sin, is introduced in Genesis 3 but must be viewed within the larger story of restoration. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace and restores shalom through his resurrection and by giving his followers peace.
The document discusses the importance of spiritual disciplines like confession and self-examination for pursuing happiness. It states that confessing sins to God results in forgiveness and cleansing from unrighteousness, while unconfessed sin can lead to unanswered prayers, discipline, and giving Satan opportunity. It recommends developing the discipline of confession through self-examination, accountability partners, and agreeing with God about sin. True confession requires humility and a willingness to return to God for forgiveness and healing from sins.
The document discusses the desires of the human heart. It notes that the heart has desires that reason does not understand and that desires can be mixed, torn, weak, and corrupt. It asks what Jesus would have us do and quotes passages about doing God's will rather than one's own. The overall message is that human desires are complex and imperfect but can be redirected toward God.
So what is hopelessness? It is a feeling that conditions will never improve, that there is no solution to a problem, and, for many, a feeling that dying by suicide would be better than living, but we can be transformed from hopelessness to hope.
This document summarizes key points from Psalm 51 about repentance and finding hope. It discusses how David honestly confessed his sins to God, felt deep sorrow for his wrongdoings, and asked God to cleanse him and create a pure heart within him. The document emphasizes that only God can achieve true change and renewal of the spirit through repentance. It concludes by quoting David's request to God in Psalm 51 to not take away his salvation or Holy Spirit, but rather restore his joy and sustain him with a willing spirit.
This short passage from the Bible discusses God's plans for humanity, stating that God's plans are for prosperity, not harm, and to give hope and a future. It references Jeremiah 29:11 to support this message.
This document discusses the importance of purity in finding joy and seeing God. It presents several Bible verses exhorting people to guard their hearts and avoid evil, so they can walk righteously. Quotes from Isaiah emphasize God dwelling with the contrite and lowly in spirit. The document concludes by stating that without adhering to absolute sexual purity, one's spiritual maturity and God's dignity are impossible according to Father Moon.

In this second in the #encounter series Rohan introduces the seven most important things you need to KNOW about the Holy Spirit. Having a clear theology of the Holy Spirit allows you to become increasingly confident in your future spiritual steps.
These seven essential foundations will serve as the groundwork for the unfolding of the series as well as give you a basic road map for what evangelical Christians believe is the teaching on the theology of the Holy Spirit.
Bottom line, the better you know someone, the more confident you can be in relating to them, moving towards them and walking with them. Same same for the Holy Spirit.

The document discusses three kinds of rest, focusing on the "Rest of the Soul with God". It describes this rest as ceasing our efforts to be righteous through our own works and instead trusting fully in Christ's finished work. Quotes from scripture emphasize abandoning our own works and entering God's rest through faith. The experience of this rest is likened to a weaned child resting contentedly with its mother. Voices like Augustine, Amy Carmichael, and Chuck Swindoll are quoted speaking of finding rest, clarity, and exhaustion in God's presence through meditation and focusing on Him.
- Jesus experienced the greatest joy of any person in history according to Hebrews 1:9. As the sinless son of God who perfectly loved righteousness and hated wickedness, he was anointed with the "oil of gladness" beyond all others.
- Jesus found his greatest joy in doing the will of God and bringing salvation to lost sinners. The expectation of redeeming billions and their eternal joy filled Jesus with immeasurable happiness and gave him the strength to endure the cross.
- While Jesus experienced sadness at times, he was overall a man of joy who attracted people through his joyful, friendly demeanor. He joined in the celebrations and laughter of others and would have smiled at the miracles

In Acts 2:22-36 Peter concludes his sermon on Pentecost Sunday. This is the sermon that launched the Church. We find that the Peter who once shrank back and even denied Jesus is now confident, bold and impassioned. Peter lays out three proofs of Jesus Good News, the Gospel. He does so through citing eyewitness testimony of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus and by citing prophetic texts that were fulfilled by Jesus. He shows us that the Gospel of Jesus is a proven fact!
