Born in the city known for “Keeping Weird”, Julie DePrada has honed her skills
for creative marketing and brought it to the streets of Redding, CA. After mentally
absorbing a Speech Communication education that Portland State University had to
offer, Julie felt ready to conquer the world of radio. Julie used her marketing talents
at a few radio stations in Portland, before ditching the big city for comforts of small
town life.
Once Julie landed in Redding, CA she found herself with a passion for helping to
create a wonderful community. Julie joined many service and community groups
including, Rotary, Catalyst Young Professionals and Leadership Redding. Due to her
efforts in volunteering and community activism she was one of the 1st annual 20
under 40 emerging leaders in Shasta County. Julie was also honored as Business
Person of the Year by Viva Downtown Redding,
Tiring of the corporate world, Julie found herself making a big leap in to the
wonderful world of non-profit. Working at Shasta County Child Abuse Prevention
Coordinating Council as a Special Projects Coordinator, she recently accepted a
position through SHASTA CAPCC’s AmeriCorps program as the Volunteer &
Outreach Coordinator.
Julie lives in Redding with her youngest son Antonio, a 3-legged cat named Peggy
and her teammate in life Daniel. She also constantly looks at her phone, waiting for a
phone call from her eldest son (Kristian) who resides in Chico.
