Early life
Kailash Satyarthi was born on 11 January 1954
in the Vidisha district of central Indian state
Madhya Pradesh.
He attended govt. boys higher secondary school
and completed his degree in electrical
engineering at samrat ashok technological
institute, Vidisha and a post graduate degree in
high-voltage engineering he then joined a college
in Bhopal as a lecturer for a few years.
Personal life
He lives in Delhi.
His family includes his wife a son, daughter-in-law
and a daughter.
He has been described as an excellent cook.
Work
In 1980, he gave up his career as a teacher and became
secretary general for the Bonded Labor liberation front;
he also founded the Bachpan Bachao Andolan that year.
He has also been involved with the global march against
child labor and its international advocacy body. He has
also served as the president of the Global campaign for
Education. In addition, he established Good weave
International as the first voluntarily labeling,
monitoring and certification system of rugs
manufactured without the use of child-labor in South
Asia.
Work against child labor
 Much of the worlds population, especially in poor
countries, is made up of children and young people. To
achieve a peaceful world, it is crucial that the rights of
children and young people be respected .following the
tradition of Mahatma Gandhi, Indian activist Kailash
Satyarthi has waged a peaceful struggle to stop children
being exploited as labor instead of attending school. He
also contributed to the development of international
conventions on the right of children.
Interesting things to know about Kailash Satyarthi
 For his work, Satyarthi has endured death threats and
attempts at incarnation, and two of his colleagues were
even murdered on the job.
 He gave up his career as an electrical engineer more than
30 years ago to support Bachpan Bachao Andolan
 As a student he used to study under the lamp post on a
met a night as there were no power supply in his town
Vidisha.
