It details the technologies Ke`ala experienced as a student in kindergarten through college and expresses a vision for using technologies like YouTube, apps, and iPads to support math instruction by allowing computation and representation. The document acknowledges challenges of inadequate budgets, intimidation by technology, and lack of training.

3. My definition of
Educational Technology in
Teaching Math
Computation and Representation are key
elements in the Math and can be viewed as
the colors of painting.
When Technology is present, like a
“calculator” or an “ipad”, these tools can
easily do Computation.
Representation, the ability to apply math
content with formulae, theories, or rules, are
added via “youtube.com” or an “app”, the
portrait is complete.
For learning to occur in the math classroom,
the picture of Computation and
Representation go hand-in-hand with
Technology.

10. My vision of the classroom
of the future
Use Technology in
the Math classroom
for computation and
representation.
Take knowledge from
Technology outside
the Math classroom
to apply content.
11. A challenge for teaching
