Besides running Pak World Trade and Expo Centre in Islamabad for more than forty years, he is founder and chairman of Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAEI), President of UK Pakistan Business Council (Pakistan Chapter), Chairman of standing committees of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry and honorary member of AJK Board of Investment. He regularly plays badminton and golf in free time. From a single marriage, he has one son and daughter.

Acclaimed National Exhibitor Khurshid Barlas successfully has organized industrial exhibitions in all major cities of Pakistan. 1st National Industrial Exhibition in 1984 and 1st Gems Expo in 2000 in Islamabad were organized by Pak World Trade and Expo Centre. 1st Rawal Expo in 2006 at Ayub National Park and 1st Made in Pakistan Products Exhibition in Karachi are few other laurels to be admired and lauded.
