Project 1:
Project Name: HSBC Cards.
Environment: Hadoop, Hbase-0.96.2, Phoenix, JMX, Java.
Brief Description:
The purpose of the poc is to perform the analysis on the data files provided by the client. The data files
are in json format. Everyday some data in gbs were dumped in a particular location. We had to
compare the performance efficiency of Phoenix vs Hbase vs GemFire. We had to extract data and figure
out the performances of these three databases. These performance parameters were measured in a
application called JMX.
Roles and Responsibilities
ï‚· To create java application to extract data from a particular location and create Hbase tables.
ï‚· To parse complex json format and then and create column and column family for a Hbase Table.
ï‚· To run Phoenix on Hbase.

- 2. ------------------------------------------------------------ Project 2: Project Name: Capital One Financial - Channel Delivery Toolbars Environment: MKS, sqoop-1.4.4, Hadoop, HDFS, Hive-0.11 Brief Description: The Toolbars is the front end application for customer care. This application is having 42 functions (e.g. Fraud, Lost card, Credit line increase etc.) to process the card holder’s requests. More than 10000 customer care representatives are using Toolbars application across the 20 offshore and onsite sites.The purpose of the project is to process the new cards requested by user through manual letters. Then these auto-generated letters are dumped in a particular location. From there Map Reduce jobs are run. And from there it is analysed what kind of letter and reasons users have requested. Roles and Responsibilities  To create import desired tables from Sybase to HDFS through Sqoop.  Then create the Hive tables.  Load data into hive tables and then create partitions.  Partitions created to be based on letter id. ------------------------------------------------------------ Project 3: Project Name: HSBC Credit Cards. Environment: Execution Services Framework (ES-A Struts based framework), Rapid Application Developer (RAD), Websphere v6.1 Server, DB2,J2EE, RAD, ES 5.4 Framework (A Struts based framework). Brief Description: RS eSnap is a Internet based Application used for entering PLCC cards Application for Capital One (Previously HSBC). This Application supports multiple retail merchants (Best Buy/Menards/Kawasaki etc), and is used by them to provide PLCC credit cards. The project was focused at enhancing customer experience and better service. This project release helped in significant increment of business for Capital One in the Power sports Portfolio like Yamaha, Kawasaki and polaris. Roles and Responsibilities  Fixed the bugs in application.  Analysed the Functional Specifications given by client and provided the Estimations.  Deploying the application using the web sphere server  Involved in Unit and Integration Testing  Creating Use Cases according to Business Requirement Document (BRD).  Interaction with Onsite co-coordinator and coordinating with other teams for any issues.  Publish timely and regular updates to the team managers on the progress of the projects.
