B.V. Panduranga Rao, a noted Indian cartoonist, was awarded the prestigious Theme Prize at the 21st Daejeon International Cartoon Contest in South Korea for two of his cartoons about environmental pollution. Over 500 cartoonists from 54 countries submitted over 1,400 works to the contest, whose theme was "New Eco City." Panduranga Rao has participated in the contest for 16 years, receiving 13 awards including the Theme Prize, and has set several records for his international achievements that have been recorded in various books.
