Kyle Breunig will lead a 2 lap run for students at their own pace, followed by a lecture. The lecture will discuss the importance of a balanced diet with proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Students will then visit a website in the computer lab about the food pyramid. As a blogging assignment, students will track their daily calorie intake. Kyle will also teach about metabolism and how it differs individually, showing a formula to calculate metabolism rate. The class will finish with a discussion of flexibility, how it prevents injuries, and a partner stretching exercise.

After the laps are completed they will sit down in and get ready for their lecture.The Importance of a healthy dietI will discuss the importance of having a balanced diet with healthy foods and nutrients and explain about proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and fiber and tell why they each play a vital role in maintaining a healthy diet using the smart board.
5. Computer LabI will move the class into the computer lab where they will access http://www.mypyramid.gov/pyramid/index.html this website to learn about the different food groups.
6. Blogging AssignmentI will assign the class a blogging assignment to keep track of the calories of the foods that they eat throughout the day.
7. MetabolismI will teach the students about metabolism and stress that everyone¡¯s is different. I will then use the smart board to show them a formula of how to calculate their metabolism rate
8. FlexibilityI will discuss the importance of stretching and explain how it prevents injuries and how it can enhance performance in physical activities. They will then sit down on the mat with a partner and stretch each muscle.
