A science teacher from Fountain Hills High School took his chemistry students on a field trip to La Scala Creamery to learn about food science through hands-on demonstrations of fermented foods and dairy products, after which the students created their own recipe for the Mediterranean dish tzatziki using principles of food chemistry. The excursion helped bring biochemistry concepts to life and ignited the students' interest in exploring food science further through a proposed summer camp hosted at the creamery.
