This document discusses the goals of interaction design. Interaction design draws from multiple disciplines including computer science, cognitive science, engineering, sociology, psychology, and language. It lists desirable aspects of interaction design such as being satisfying, enjoyable, and emotionally fulfilling. In contrast, undesirable aspects include being boring, frustrating, or making users feel stupid. The document ends with instructing a class to discuss why they chose their mobile phone brand based on the listed user experience goals.
