DEPARTMENT - LABORATORY Hospital
Location & Layout  1st floor Old building away from the main traffic area .  ICU , Dialysis unit, Endoscopy unit-nearest departments  SICU , Cath Lab and OT ( Sterile OT’s )are on the same floor .
Infrastructure and Facilities  Fully air conditioned with Central Ventilation system with one dedicated A.H.U. for microbiological laminar flow system.  Main sections - Reception , Hematology , biochemistry( Includes Clinical Pathology) , Microbiology & Serology.  FACILITIES:-  LIS,  Automated Equipments,  Centralized Air conditioning,  Separate OPD Collection centre  Human Resource :-  Laboratory Manager –  Blood Bank Manager,  -( MD –Clinical Pathology) Quality control Manager,  ( MD – Microbiology) Infection Control Manager.  Other Laboratory Technicians & Clerical staff are 30 .
 Breakdown Management System in the Lab:- CMC and Optional working Machine,  Special Zones in the Lab:- Microbiology department  Materials management in the Lab.:- Decentralized system- Reagents –Lab In charge Other materials –Pharmacy & Materials Management.  Quality Assurance:- 1. External quality assurance programm for biochemistry and Hematology departments. 2. A Blood sample run on both the machines 3. All the technicians -well trained for universal safety precautions & special precautions. 4. Complete care and confirmation of Results.

Quantitative Analysis DATA from MRD :- Received overall 4,07,667 requisitions for various tests Biochemistry - 2,39,631 ,( 58.78 %) ( 657 tests per day), Hematology – 70,742 ( 17.35 %) ( 194 tests per day), Microbiology – 24,198 ( 6%) ( 66 tests per day), Blood Bank – 17962 ( 4.40%) ( 49 tests per day), Serology - 18112 ( 4.5 %) ( 50 tests per day) Clinical Pathology - 19129 ( 4.69 %) ( 52 tests per day), Histopathology - 3841( 1%) ( 11 tests per day) Immunoassay - 14052 ( 3.45 % ) ( 39 tests per day)  Per day 100-120 samples from OPD and 50-80 samples from IPD i.e. 6 -8 Samples per technician.
