Rod Kersch has substantially improved the performance of the First Data South Region sales team as Vice President over the last year. He expanded the team from 1 to 6 sales directors and 46 to 66 business consultants. Rod also played a key role in retaining bank relationships and acquiring new major customers. Under his leadership, the region saw an 11% increase in quarterly volume, 41% growth in POS revenue, and 29% improvement in productivity. Based on these accomplishments, his former supervisor believes Rod would be an asset for any company seeking a seasoned leader with a proven track record of team development and financial growth.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter on behalf of Rod Kersch. I worked with Rod over the last year or since
Rod joined the First Data team. Rod has been an integral part of transforming the South Region
that consists of 15 states from 1 sales director to 6 and 46 Business Consultants to 66. His efforts
with the First Data bank relationships were integral in retaining and improving the lead
generation into one of the top performing regions in the company. Rod was very quick to jump in
and take over the responsibilities of his role. Within the first 3 days of coming aboard Rod was
sourcing, interviewing and hiring talent for the understaffed South Region. In his first 10 months
he has substantially improved the talent that resides in the South Region. Rods role as South
Region Vice President is multi-faceted, It consists of building and managing the sales team of 6
sales directors and 66 Business Consultants, Bank and Merchant retention and relationship
management as well as new business development. I was the Regional Vice President over the
East Region when Rod joined the team and his impact helped create a higher performing sales
organization and solidified our relationships with key merchants and banks. Rod has been
essential in bringing aboard major new customers. He was absolutely instrumental in acquiring
the National Concessionaires Association, Anne Sloans and more recently the Star Lumber and
T&W Tire accounts. Rod and his team of Sales Directors developed the Bank relationship
playbook that has been adopted companywide to manage all bank relationships expectations and
responsibilities. Rod increased the regions Quarterly volume from $348,256,389 to $389,561,499
an 11% growth in volume. The regions POS Revenue grew from $602,616 to $1,006,242 a 41%
growth in POS revenue. Productivity improved from 4.52 per BC to 6.41 per BC a 29% growth
in productivity. I enjoyed working with Rod, appreciated his input and respected his opinions
on shaping the performance of the South Region. I believe Rod would be a great asset to any
company looking for a seasoned Vice President with a consistent track record of team
development and financial growth.
