 Most packaging is intended for two handed operation.
 Tight security seals, create frustrating experiences. Results in
seeking help from others, which infringes upon their sense of
independence or avoidance of certain packaging altogether.
 We believe that the gap here lies in the design of the closure.
How might we design packaging that brings about the
ease of use, assurance and delight for all users?

 Concept Submission (due on 30th September, 2359hrs)
 Submission instructions at www.ncc-challenge.com
STAGE 2
 Idea Refinement for top 10 selected teams from 14th October to 4th
November. Mentorship, workshops, fabrication support provided.
 Develop Working Prototype (presentation on 4th November)

 Principles of Universal Design by Ken Chua (these)abilities
 Design for Manufacturing & Assembly by Eric Chan from (design
engineer from Razer & formerly Dyson)
 Digital Fabrication by Sustainable Living Lab (SL2)
The 10 shortlisted teams have access to the Community Lab, our
makerspace located in Tampines, for their idea refinement.

Fabrication.
On-site technical support.
 All are welcome to participate in this NCC Next Gen Packaging
Design Challenge.
 Minimum number of members per group is 2 and maximum 5.
 Participants are only allowed to submit ONE project.
 Entries must not have been submitted for other competitions or have
been exhibited previously.

PRIZES & AWARDS
4th to 10th placed teams get SGD $500 in cash prizes.
Chance for winning designs to be manufactured for 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
Secret prize for most outstanding design.
