"The Leader in Me" by Covey is a fantastic school transformation that can change any school into a leadership school. However, what is all the hype about? Why do all studENts today havE to be leaders? Will anyone be a follower?

- 1. Vision: "Our school intends to bring forth, conscientious leaders who will have superior scholastic abilities ,and who will be able to apply ethical approaches to resolve problems and overcome obstacles on a national and international level, always keeping their Islamic beliefs in mind."
- 2. Leaders , LEADERS BLA BLA What is all this hype about ? All students will be leaders? Then who will be the followers?

- 4. Why do we need leaders for todays world ?

- 13. Easy, so as educators we can promote intelligence by.
- 14. Yeah , but seriously you are not saying anything ! If change cant be measured or predicted how can we prepare our students for it?
- 15. We can prepare students for change by teaching them soft skills

- 17. What are soft skills? Soft skills are personality traits and interpersonal skills that directly affect your relationships with other people. They are sometimes called life skills and they stem from who you are and how you interact with the world around you.
- 18. Soft Skills can be divided into two categories: Internal soft skills: Self-confidence Self-awareness Self-compassion Accepting criticism Critical thinking/problem solving Resilience Perseverance Emotional management Perceptiveness Growth mindset

- 21. The Leader in Me Is a process that teaches soft skills or life skills to students using the 7 habits in a leadership school environment ( the habitat).

The Leader in Me Teaches students how wo be a leader with themselves : having confidence is their choices, being forward thinking, having a plan and clear purposes and the discipline to achieve them. Teaches students how to be a leader with others: Sharing knowledge , inpiring others, to rise to their potential
- 23. The Leader in Me teaches students the following 7 habits: Be Proactive Begin With The End In Mind Put First Things First Think Win, Win Seek to Understand, Before Understood Synergize Sharpen the Saw

- 26. It allows students to collaborate , communicate and accept each other ,something that is expected when they become part of the 21st century workforce.

- 28. The Leader in Me is a state of mind that treats students as future leaders.
- 29. How can we change our school culture to a leadership culture? The Leader in Me curriculum will be implemented in all school sections: Kg, Elementary , Middle School and High School at least one hour per week The seven habits in The Leader in Me will be used to decorate classrooms, hallways, and if possible the stationary and books of our schools Events that will occur in assemblies , school activities and curriculum will all remind students and support their usage of the seven habits. The language that all teachers and administrators will use , will remind students to apply the seven habits in a leadership school.
