The League of Women Voters CO Council meeting was held in Montrose over two days. Delegates from 15 of the state's 19 local leagues attended and shared ideas about collaboration, coalitions, and social media use. Presentations from Jefferson, Pueblo, and Larimer counties highlighted impressive projects on climate change, heroin forums, and community videos. The keynote speaker, Wonder Wachara, a political science student, drew from Charles Dickens and the US Constitution to inspire attendees about individual responsibility in political participation and maintaining American liberties. Following her standing ovation, it was proposed that Wonder and her sister be given honorary LWVCO memberships.
