To whom it may concern
My name is Tom Jowett and I am a Director of Reach Out Volunteers. The purpose of this
letter is to provide a character reference for Mitchell Hubble. I have known Mitchell since
March 2013, meeting him for the first time after he had completed a 28-day volunteer project
in Africa. During this time he was working at an orphanage where he would take the sick
children to the medical clinic, run education and hygiene classes and helped to build a new
classroom for an orphanage. The following year Mitchell volunteered in Peru for 28days
building greenhouses for remote families, high in the Andes.
Mitchell was an ideal team member on both these projects. He worked hard, supported other
team members and was always a pleasure to have around.
Volunteer projects take place in less developed countries and involve building schools,
crèches, suppling and installing clean water and sanitation facilities. It can also involve
wildlife and marine conservation work. Working conditions are far from ideal and our
volunteers need to be innovative and able to adapt quickly to a new culture, environment and
friendship group, which Mitchell could always do.
Mitchell’s commitment did not end with the programs he attended. He has actively assisted
other young people who having been considering volunteering in understanding what the
volunteering commitment requires of them and promoted volunteering at his university.
I feel that Mitchell would be a great addition to any organisation.
Please feel free to contact me if you require additional information on any of the matters
discussed above.
Yours Sincerely
Tom Jowett
