While an aircraft was being fueled, the right-hand engine unexpectedly started without notification from the engineering team. The aircraft fueler immediately stopped fueling, cleared the refueler to a safe area, and escalated the incident to the customer's authorities to prevent future occurrences. The recommendations were to stop fueling and move to a safe area if an engine starts during fueling, escalate incidents to avoid recurrence, and share the learning with all fuelers.

Hydrant While Fueling Aircraft Engine started without any Intimation Description of Incident One AFE was allocated for fueling of a customer flight, During fueling, the AFE he observed R-H Engine of Aircraft started without any prior intimation by the customers engineering team. As a quick response the AFE stopped the fueling immediately and refueler cleared from the area and parked at a safer place. Matter has been escalated to the customers concerned authorities to avoid such incident in future. Fueling shall be stopped Immediately and Matter need to be escalated to the customers concerned authorities. i. AFE should stop the fueling immediately whenever engine started without intimation and Refueller shall be cleared from the area and parked at a safer place. ii. As a Preventive measure Matter shall be escalated to the customers concerned authorities to avoid such incident in future iii.
