Summer reading registration begins on June 14th. The library will host a "Flat Brats" project where children can participate in creating traveling paper dolls like Flat Stanley to be displayed at the Army hospital. From June 20th to July 11th excluding July 4th, the library will host "Have Book Will Travel" on Thursdays at 4pm, including themes on fantasy, sports, and a grand finale event with an edible book contest and international foods. Participants will receive prizes and commemorative coins for taking part.

- 1. Summer Reading Registration begins! Friday, June 14 Ever heard of Flat Stanley? Well since we’re in the Army, we’re making Flat Brats! Participate in this fun traveling experience right here at the Library! Once we finish this project, it will go on display at Bassett Army Hospital! Have Book-Will Travel! Have Book Will Travel...Imagine! June 20, 4 p.m. Travel into the world of fantasy with the Library today! We’ll visit different lands in our imaginations. Don’t miss out! Have Book Will Travel-- Sports! June 27, 4 p.m. Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! Adventure into the world of sports with this week’s Have Book Will Travel! We’ll play games, have relays and contests! (Please remember that Have Book Will Travel is held Thursdays from June 20-July 11 with a break on July 4 to observe the holiday.) Top Reader Prizes will be awarded! Fun activities for all ages! T-shirts and coins will be given to all participants. Have Book Will Travel Grand Finale! July 11, 4 p.m. The Grand Finale will be filled with fun, frivolity and food! We will have an edible book contest and foods and activities from around the world. Prizes will be awarded to top readers and all participants will receive their Reading Accomplishment Coin!
