IS IT IMPORTANT?

   ï‚— THE ABILTY TO READ, UNDERSTAND AND ACT ON
     HEALTH INFORMATION.
ï‚— OVER 90 MILLION AMERICAN ADULTS HAVE
  DIFFICULTY UNDERSTANDING AND USING HEALTH
  INFORMATION.
ï‚— Some examples:
  ï‚— Understanding directions on a prescription bottle
  ï‚— Communicating with your doctor
  ï‚— Understanding your diagnosis and treatment plans

ï‚— EVERY 20 SECONDS SOMEONE HAS A HEART ATTACK
   ï‚— At least 250,000 people die of a heart attack before reaching
