30. LIBRARY GENERAL RULES
Personal belongings such as bags, Tiffin boxes, personal
books and files, notes etc should be left on the rack at the
entrance of the Library. Plain sheets may be taken instead.
Every user whenever enters into the Library, they should
enter their ID number, name and the entry time in the Gate
Register kept at the Entrance of the Library. Likewise, when
they leave the Library the leaving time should be entered in
the Gate Register.
Silence must be observed inside the Library and loud talking
is prohibited in all parts of the Library as the Library is the
place of individual study and research.
31. LIBRARY GENERAL RULES
Discussions are not allowed inside the Library.
Books should be handled with care. Marking on books is
most objectionable and may lead to cancellation of
membership privileges.
Our College Library is following Open Access System and
hence the members have the privilege of direct access to
book shelves in the Stack and Reference and Reading Hall.
Members are allowed to utilize the On-line Journals and
Internet Browsing facilities, should enter the name, ID
number, system number, and login time and logout time in
the register kept at the Digital Library section.
32. LIBRARY GENERAL RULES
Users are requested not to leave any personal belongings
like mobile, purse, pen etc. unattended. The Library will
not be responsible for the loss of the same.
Books may be renewed for a further period of 14 days, if
the concerned book is not under reservation by others.
This is our college library. It is our responsibility to keep it
neat and tidy, and make conducive atmosphere for
reading.
For better use of the Library, members can approach the
Librarian.
33. CIRCULATION POLICY
The Circulation Desk forms part of the Circulation Services Section.
Books are issued and returned at this desk.
The Circulation desk is also a general service desk area that handles
general enquiries.
LOAN PROCEDURE
Three types Loans OFFERED be followed by our VIAAS Library
such as
1. Common Loan,
2. Short Loan, and
3. Overnight Loan
34. LOAN PROCEDURE
COMMON LOAN
EXCEPT Reference books, all books that have been
borrowed from the book shelves on production of Borrower
card along with ID Card.
The rights of the cardholder cannot be transferred to
another person.
Items that have been borrowed may be renewed twice.
Renewals are allowed only if the item is not overdue or not
in demand.
35. LOAN PROCEDURE
SHORT LOAN
The Short Loans Section consists mainly of prescribed texts, reference
collections and periodicals like journals and magazines.
Books and periodicals on the Short Loan period may be borrowed on
production of ID Card where multiple copies are available.
Users are allowed to borrow books and journals and return the day itself.
OVERNIGHT LOAN
Only faculty members are allowed to borrow books and journals for
overnight only and the required books and periodicals will be issued
after 4.00pm and they have to return the another day morning positively
before 10.00am.
36. LIBRARY ETIQUETTE
No talking in the library, no cell phone or chatting among friends,
use designated area for such activities
No Group Discussion
No moving tables and chairs and if you do, please place them back
the way you found them
If you are using books do not place them in wrong places, leave
them on the table
Behave properly, respect every one
Pay your late fees
Follow librarys rules and always address librarian politely
Always say thank you for any help you obtain, practice good
manners
42. DIGITAL LIBRARY POLICY
Each User can use the Computer in Digital Library for a period of One
Hour only.
The Users should make a compulsory entry in the log book before
switching on the terminal except Library Hours.
The Users will not be allowed to use this facility during class hours
except Library Hours.
The Users should not be allowed to use their own floppies/CD's/Pen
Drive.
Playing games, watching unwanted videos is strictly prohibited.

43. DIGITAL LIBRARY POLICY
The students should shutdown the system
properly, else inform to library staff.
The Users will be held responsible for any
damage to the system or CD's being used by
them.
Copying files from the CD's to the Hard-disk and
deleting files in Hard-disks are strictly
prohibited.
