It ranks countries based on overall life expectancy at birth, as well as breaking it down by male and female life expectancy. Japan has the highest overall life expectancy at 82.6 years, while Chad has the lowest at 50.6 years. Generally, developed countries have life expectancies over 80 years while many developing countries have life expectancies below 60 years.
