Worklife balance is a broad concept including proper
prioritizing between work (career and ambition) on one
hand and life (Health, pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual
development) on the other.
Related, though broader, terms include lifestyle balance and
life balance
The reality
Work is about a search for daily
meaning as well as daily bread,
for recognition as well as cash,
for astonishment rather than
torpor, in short, for a sort of life
 rather than a Monday through
Friday sort of dying
Studs Terkel
Employees sitting late / overtime / working on
holidays / day off are leading into the
following:= sum(
 Absenteeism +
 Reduced productivity +
 Job dissatisfaction +
 Rising healthcare costs +
