The American Red Cross is offering a lifeguard and waterfront certification course at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, New York from February to May 2014. The course involves mandatory swim tests, classroom instruction on Fridays evenings and Saturdays, and certifications in lifeguarding, waterfront safety, first aid, and CPR/AED. Friday, February 21st 5:30pm OR Tuesday, February 25th 5:00pm Must be 15 years of age on or before end date 500 yard swim for Waterfront or 300 yard swim for Lifeguard demonstrating front crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke ? Timed 50 yard swim retrieving 10 pound brick in less than 1 minute and 40 seconds Instructors: Donna Stack/ Tara Manzella Course Dates & Times: Fridays 5:30pm-9:00pm February 28th March 1, 7, 14, 21, 28th April 4, 11, 25th May 2, 9th 2014. Last Class: Off-Site Waterfront Date: Saturday, May 17th NO CLASS APRIL 18th & MAY 16TH Cost: $425.00 (SJC student $212.50) Fee includes downloading Lifeguard manual, pocket mask and Certification in Lifeguarding, Waterfront, First Aid and CPR /AED. Registration forms and payment MUST be received by Wednesday 2/19/14.
