Light is meant to enhance certain surfaces and subtract or add to the overall colors of some space. If it's a room in your home in question, lighting can improve the mood of the room. For example, darker colors make a place feel cramped and smaller, while lighter colors do the exact opposite.

LIGHTING AND ITS INFLUENCE ON INTERIOR
2. NATURAL LIGHT
The interplay of natural lights in an interior space creates mood, enhances materials, and energizes a place.
Indoor places with beautiful plays of light create an alluring ambiance and ensues a lively feeling to its occupants.
ARTIFICIAL LIGHT
It is capable of defining volumes, enhancing colors, textures, and therefore, contributing to the overall relationship between
dimension, proportion, and contrasts.
TASK LIGHT
Task lighting is designed to create a shadow-free environment when undertaking daily activities in your home. Whether youre cooking, watching tv, or reading a book, task
lighting ensures the fine details are properly illuminated.
3. AMBIENT LIGHT
Ambient lighting provides the foundation and general illumination of a room. Aside from the basic lighting functionality it provides, ambient lighting enhances the sense of
warmth and depth of your space. This is usually achieved using overhead lighting such as recessed lights, chandeliers and track lights.
TYPES OF LIGHT ( FILAMENT, GASEOUS AND LED)
o There are four main types of lights - light emitting diodes (LED), compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), halogen lamps and incandescent bulbs.
o The filament lamp is a common type of light bulb. It contains a thin coil of wire called the filament. This heats up when an electric current passes through it and produces
light as a result.
o Gas-discharge lamps are a family of artificial light sources that generate light by sending an electric discharge through an ionized gas, a plasma.
o Typically, such lamps use a noble gas (argon, neon, krypton, and xenon) or a mixture of these gases. Some include additional substances, like mercury, sodium, and metal
halides, which are vaporized during startup to become part of the gas mixture.
o light-emitting diode is a semiconductor device that emits light when current flows through it. Electrons in the semiconductor recombine with electron holes, releasing energy in
the form of photons. The color of the light is determined by the energy required for electrons to cross the band gap of the semiconductor.
4. SHADES AND SHADOWS
SHADES & SHADOW create mood and interests depending on how we perceive them. It creates a desire to explore what is behind it the darkness, depth, and wholly
another world. It evokes our imaginative power to fantasize about the surface behind it.
