This lesson plan is for an English class teaching 8th standard students about the poem "The Enchanted Shirt". The lesson aims to develop the students' passion for poetry and their sense of responsibility. It will use a jigsaw puzzle activity to help students understand the sequence of events in the poem. Students will arrange sentence cards into the proper order to reconstruct the story. The goal is for students to learn about the duties and responsibilities of a king to his subjects from the poem.

Curricular Statements The learners develop a passion towards poem. develop the sense of responsibility. develop four fold skills LSRW. Content Analysis Kings spies couldnt present a happy man before him. As days passed the king realised that his subjects are not at all happy. He felt ashamed of himself. He began to go out to the world around him. He took good care for his subjects. He realized his duties and the subjects became happy. Thus the king also became happy and got rid off his sickness.
Pre requisites The learners I. know the importance of peaceful relationship between the king and his subjects. II. are aware of the duties and responsibilities of a king. Teaching Learning Resources Puzzle cards Jigsaw puzzle Teacher introduces the sequence of the Ballad The Enchanted Shirt in the form of the Jigsaw puzzle. Each sentence will fit in the Jigsaw puzzle only if it is placed in the correct sequence. Teacher makes the students read each sentence of the Jigsaw puzzle. Then the teacher makes the student arrange the cards in a sequential order.
