LinkedIn is intended for professional networking and interactions, while Facebook is more personal. On LinkedIn, you should only discuss work-related topics like your industry or field and not share personal details unless relevant to business. You should selectively connect with people in your industry or location and control what information you choose to share publicly unlike when using social media to login elsewhere.

LinkedIn is Professional

Its really all about choices!
Linked in is professional. Facebook is personal
o Interactions are professional. You dont tell people about your vacation or where you
went to eat, or your pets or grandchildren unless they are business related.
o You connect with people in your field, or a related field, or people in your geographic
area.
Be selective in the manner in which you choose to interact. You only ever share what you choose
to share. It is not true that everyone knows where you are and when you are travelling, etc.
UNLESS you have shared this information. This can happen when you use LinkedIn or facebook
to login to other sites. I DO NOT recommend doing this except in very select circumstances.
Be selective in choosing with whom you connect.
