 Be active- LinkedIns newest feature is the ability to publish posts. Its still
important to join and be active in groups.
 Detail - Be sure your LinkedIn profile is completely up to date with as much
information as possible.
 Be visual- Make your profile stand out by adding rich media (videos, slides etc).
 Put your volunteer information up!
 Showcase what skills you have!

 Publishing a post is a great way of getting noticed!
 Add key words in your summary so you are found on searches

 Put up your volunteering projects
 Add your education
 Testimonials
 Follow Groups/create groups- good visibility.
 Provide contact details for contacting you.
Home Screen This is your home screen
On this page you can
share an update. Upload
a photo and publish a
post.
This is where all your
updates will be shown
and where your
connections updates will
be shown.
On the right shows jobs
you may be interested in
which are relevant to
your experience.
As well as additional
connections to connect
with.
 Drop down options are keep in touch, alumni and add connections.
 This is where it shows your connections birthdays at the top. The
most recent emails you sent out in the middle.
 By pressing the cog button you can add pre existing connections to
your account by distribution list/excel etc..
 Advanced settings- this is also where you can export your own
connections on LinkedIn to an excel spreadsheet.
 Alumni tab enables you to connect with your past. Thats if you have
put all the relevant information in it will find groups of people for you
to connect with.

 Education tab is an add on of alumni.
 Jobs is where you can post a job, find a job, you can apply
using your LinkedIn Profile as well.
 Advanced search enables you to search location, salary and
keywords for the right role ect.
Education/Jobs
 Drop down displays as Companies, groups and Pulse.
 Companies- shows who your following and there updates but
also an options to create your own companies page.
 Groups- shows what groups you can invite yourself to. Max
number of groups is 50.
 Pulse- The news and insights you need to know. You can see
your connections posts publish
Interests Tab
 Tab has 4 options  Edit Profile, your Decision board, profile
updates, and profile viewed.
 Every LinkedIn user has a public Profile and professional.
 Public is the profile viewed by the public (e.g. not on your
connections)
 Edit profile  means edit any aspect of your profile. You can edit
everything on your profile that has This -
 Decision board- For graduates trying to find universities.
 Profile Views- who has viewed your profile.
 Profile updates  where all your updates exist.
Profile
 Takes you to public profile.
 Where you can edit your public
URL.
 You can create a profile in another
Language on your view profile tab.
 Save to PDF and share your profile.
 Contact information- edit this with relevant information.

 Front facing photo.
 Background size by 1400 by
425.
 Remember your LinkedIn
profile is a personal account.
Not a Facebook account. So
professional photos and
personal things to you.

 How to ask for a testimonial?
 Click on an individuals profile.
 Click the drop down bar
 It will give you options- select
Recommend.
 Click on Ask for
Recommendation! ( follow
prompts after)
 Here you can recommend a
friend as well.
Testimonials
 Go down your profile.
 Click Add skills.
 On here you can manage
endorsements make the most
relevant at the top.
 Add skills to be endorsed for.
Endorsements
 You can do this by being a brand advocate.
 By posting events from your Op co, anything you feel
that you wouldnt mind sharing.
 Connect with Axa individuals share and like there
posts.
 Keep it professional.
 Humour is great but just remember anything with Axa
on it you have to be careful.
 Rule of thumb its not Facebook its a professional
platform.
Increasing Brand Awareness
 If you fill in as much of the information that you can. Post
frequently, publish posts, join groups and invite the right
connections your profile strength will increase to ALL STAR
which is the top.
