Floating LNG
Atkins has a long history of working
on onshore LNG liquefaction plant,
and has brought these skills to bear on
FLNG, working at the forefront of these
projects.

engineering in order to provide practical

LNG Compression System Dynamic
Simulation - Confidential Client
The company owns and operates a LNG
Re-gasification Facility and is currently
progressing to convert this to an export
terminal with liquefaction facilities.
The Liquefaction Project will have an
export capacity of at least 12 mtpa of
LNG. Each LNG Train includes feed gas
treatment, heavy hydrocarbon removal,
and liquefaction. The liquefaction unit
utilizes APCI C3MR technology in Split
MR configuration. Construction has
begun and completion of Train One is
expected in early 2018.
The company has engaged Atkins as
an independent third party to perform
numerous dynamic simulation studies
that will provide verification of the
Residue Gas Compression and Major
Refrigerant Compression Protection
System design. Atkins has developed
modeling methodologies for the
APCI C3MR Liquefaction Process,
and implemented proprietary Atkins
Compressor Model and Anti-Surge Tools
to accurately model many operating
scenarios for large refrigeration
compression systems and protection
systems.
Atkins has built an integrated dynamic
model of the liquefaction unit and
successfully carried out dynamic
simulations of numerous operating
scenarios to include start-ups and trips
in the liquefaction unit. The study
identified the compressors operating
in the surge and the stonewall region,
verified the sizing and the adequacy of
the compression protection systems,
and estimated flare loads.
Pluto LNG
Woodside Energy
Atkins was selected from international
competition to provide flow assurance
and related engineering services to the
Pluto LNG project. In one of the longest
deepwater tie-backs in the world, the
flow assurance studies for Pluto are vital
to ensure acceptable fluid flow under all
operating conditions.
The studies include evaluating the
thermal and hydraulic performance
of the Pluto production system from
the reservoir through 27 km of subsea
flowlines across the Pluto offshore
platform and onwards into the 180 km
subsea trunkline to the onshore LNG
plant.
Atkins flow assurance teams have a
unique mix of flow assurance
knowledge with extensive operations
support and detail design background
delivering practical solutions including
development of sound operating
procedures based on dynamic behaviour
of the system. Our involvement in
concept and detailed design flow
assurance studies allows us to quickly
identify of show-stoppers which
if neglected in FEED, could have
significant cost & schedule impact in
detailed design.
Singapore LNG Terminal
Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd
To meet the growing demand for
electricity and enhance Singapores
energy security, Singapore has
embarked on the development of a
S$1.5 billion Government funded LNG
terminal facility. When completed, it will
be Asias first open-access multi-user
terminal, capable of importing and re-
exporting LNG from multiple suppliers.
