There was once a father with four children who worked as a fisherman. One night he brought home only four pieces of bread to feed his family. The oldest ate theirs, the next saved theirs, and the oldest sister tried to steal her little sister's but she gave hers to poor neighbors instead. When questioned, she lied about losing her bread to hide her good deed. The story inspires a campaign called "Shared Sandwich" to help those without food by sharing sandwiches made from bread represented by tweets of a hashtag, with the goal of increasing compassion.
10. When she returned home she said that she had fallen
in the street and lost the bread, and her brothers and
sister laughed at her.
11. But she knew the truth of what happened, and she was happy
12. Do we need to feel the pain of hunger to feel compassion to those who are
constantly suffering from hunger?
How often to we notice the hungry people around us?
Do we realize that some things we care less about means a lot to other
people who are deprived of it?
How much can we sacrifice to give a greater value to a loaf of bread?
Inspired by this mind-bender film, we opted to start a campaign to help those
people without the means to buy food or the means to obtain food
immediately when they need it the most.
Join us in our endeavor. Support the SHARED SANDWICH CAMPAIGN.
13. Shared Sandwich Campaign
Vision: Increase the value of a loaf of bread
Mission: Make ones day brighter by sharing a sandwich
Mechanics:
We create a virtual loaf of bread with a twitter hashtag #loafofbread
People who wants to support the campaign should either re-tweet or re-post
with the hashtag
The campaign runs for a week starting from Nov. 7 Nov. 14
We count the number of times the hashtag appears within the specified
duration
Each X number of times the hashtag appears in twitter represents 1 loaf of
bread
Make special sandwiches out of X no. of loaves equal to the total count of
#loafofbread hashtags that appeared in twitter
Choose a sandwich recipe of your own
14. Share the sandwiches to people whom you think need it the most:
Charity of your own choice
People who live on streets
Laborers
People who skip breakfast
People who skip meals because of too many things to do
People who doesnt have enough money to buy
People who cant solve a problem
The options have no limit
There is no deadline to complete the project. You can choose to share 3
sandwiches a day or make it all at once. Upon completion, tweet with the
hashtag #loafofbreadsuccess
Share your experiences in our Facebook page to inspire and encourage
other people to do the same
