LONDON TUBE TIPS AND RULES
Always keep an eye on your group. You might
get lost in the corridors if you are distracted.
There are 12 different colour-coded
underground lines.
Look at the signs on the walls to make sure that you
are going in the right direction:
northbound, southbound, eastbound or westbound.
Stay behind the yellow line while waiting for the
train on the platform.
When your train arrives, give space to people trying
to exit the train before shoving your way on.
Mind the gap between the train and the platform.
Be quick to get on the train, as the doors close
automatically.
Once inside the train, move towards the interior to
avoid blocking the doors.
The seat that is nearest to each door is a priority
seat, which means that you will have to give it up to
an elderly, disabled or pregnant passenger.
Don¡¯t talk too loud inside the train or you may
disturb other passengers.
The escalator rule is simple: Stand on the right side
to let people in a hurry walk past you on the left.
Don¡¯t lose you travelcard or oyster card, otherwise
you will have to buy a new one without the benefit
of a group discount.
