Lambda Pi Eta students at an unnamed university had exclusive opportunities to meet and speak with several prominent journalists, including Scott Shane of the New York Times about WikiLeaks, Fareed Zakaria of CNN, and three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Thomas Friedman of the New York Times at various events hosted by the university's Learning Society from 2009 to 2011.

When the Learning Society hosted Fareed Zakaria in October 2010, Lambda Pi Eta member Brittani Hunter got to spend time talking with the esteemed CNN reporter and author.
Kaysi Winsman ¡®09 with acclaimed journalist and author Thomas Friedman. In March 2009, Lambda Pi Eta students served on the event staff for the Thomas L. Friedman Lecture. Friedman, an acclaimed author and journalist for the New York Times , is a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner. Students had the opportunity to meet and interact with Friedman after the event.
