Luis Barragán was a Mexican architect known for his minimalist designs that incorporated bright colors and open courtyards. Some of his most notable works included Casa Luna in 1928, Casa Luis Barragán in 1947 featuring open spaces and geometric forms, Torres de Satelite apartment buildings in 1957 with curved facades, and Las Arboledas housing development in 1961 making use of water features. Barragán's innovative designs that did more with less earned him the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1980, recognizing his significant contributions to architecture.
