To drive for Lyft, vehicles must pass an inspection to ensure they meet safety and functionality requirements. The inspection checks that doors, seats, seatbelts, air conditioning, windows, mirrors, lights, tires, horn and body are fully operational and safe. The Lyft inspection takes 15 minutes at a Lyft Hub and is free, though third party inspections average $20-40.
